Parklands in City of Monash - Jells Park - Wheelers Hill, 3150
Jells Park park occupies 127 hectares of land in the suburb of Wheelers Hill, 23km's south east of Melbourne in the City of Monash. Jells Park is one of Melbourne's most popular, and according to statistics published in the City of Monash newsletter, the park attracts in more than 700,000 visitors a year!
Jells Park offers plenty of natural bushland, and has over nine kilometres of tracks and paths suitable for walks, riding and skateboards. There are a couple of well-equipped playgrounds for children, the best is the Yabbie Hill Playscape and there are plenty of designated picinic areas including Jells East Picnic area, Elms Picnic area, Pines Picnic area, Oaks Picnic Area and Ashes picnic area. There are also plenty of wide open spaces for you to kick the footy with the kids. The park is dog friendly but dogs must be kept on leads.
There's fishing on the side of the lake that is outside of the conservation area, and a health population of native frogs.
